Looks great! What backs up the fiberglass covering the end and what does it bond to?

Hey Gary. Initially the covering overhangs the fairing by 1/8″ or so. First I bond it together by just wetting the inside edges with epoxy and let it cure overnight. Then I layup a single ply of fiberglass that will go on the inside overlapping onto the fairing by about an inch. Prior to placing that on the inside, I mix in some structural cotton flox to the epoxy until it’s the consistency of peanut butter and spread it along the inside joints. Basically fill in the corners at a 45 degree angle. Then while that’s still wet, lay in the fiberglass cloth that hasn’t cured yet. Let that all cure overnight and sand

Ahhh…… reinforced on the inside with the overlap and built up corners, got it. I was curious, thanks for the quick reply.
It’s been fun reading about your build. Looking forward to seeing the wing kit set up on the stands, what a time saver.

Thanks. It’s been fun and learning a lot of new things. Both Quickbuild wings and fuselage will be a huge time saver. With baby on the way… I presume this will shave at least a year (probably more) off the overall time of the build. I’ll certainly have less time to spend downstairs after July. 🙂
